Sumu veistossarjan teoksia halkoo kirkkaan ja suhjuisen lasin terävä rajapinta. Kuplat valtaavat alaa ja heikentävät näkyvyyttä. Vaikka yrittää elää hetkessä, ylikuormituksen kauaskantoiset vaikutukset sumentavat ja lisäävät oman kerroksensa arkeen vielä pitkään toipumisen alettuakin. Sumunkin seasta nousee uutta, ja kirkkaat versot kurottavat ylös ja eteenpäin. Kaikista kuplista ei tohdi luopuakaan, onhan seassa myös jotakin tavoiteltua. Säilytettäviä suunnitelmia, joiden toteuttamisen paine on tasapainotettava jotta koko pinta ei sumennu.

The Sumu sculpture series’ pieces are split in half by a border of clear and bubbling glass. The surface is being overtaken by a haze that makes it impossible to see through. Even though trying to live in the moment, the far reaching effects of mental burn out cloud the mind and add their own layer to the everyday experience long after the recovery has begun. Through the fog something new can still emerge. Clear, new growth is sprouting and reaching up and forward. All of the mist shouldn’t fade away, because it’s also hiding something valuable. Plans and dreams that want to be reached, but while balancing the unclouded serenity with the pressure of the mist so that the whole surface is not overtaken again.
